This striking designer chair named Notorious was created in 1988 by Massimo Iosa Ghini for the Italian maker Moroso and is among the most expressive designs of postmodernism. It is characterised by the curved frame of chromed steel tubing that forms a sculptural silhouette and is combined with black wood for the backrest and arm pads. 

The oval backrest is mounted on two slanted struts and appears to float. Seat and side panels are covered in a deep violet fabric, stretched like a fan, giving the piece lightness and dynamism. The elliptical forms and contrasting colours are exemplary of Iosa Ghini's distinctive, futuristic style between the Memphis group and high‑tech aesthetics.

Condition: The chair is in very good condition with only minimal signs of wear. The chrome shows no significant abrasion, the upholstery is firm and clean, and the black wooden elements are likewise well kept with only a few light isolated scratches. An exceptional collector's piece for fans of avant‑garde Italian design furniture.
