Items on the platform

Tutti is a general marketplace, while marko focuses on fashion, electronics and home. On tutti, you’ll find everything from baby clothes to cars on the platform, but the categorization and filter options are limited: If you search for a particular item, you need to be very specific in your search to find it. On marko you can search for a specific item or browse through many categories.

Buying journey

As a classified ad’s platform, tutti does not support you in the transaction process. If you want to buy an item, you have to negotiate, agree on the payment method and organize the delivery or handover yourself. On marko, you purchase your item with one click, select your delivery option, and securely pay via credit or debit card and TWINT. If you want to negotiate or you simply have questions, you can leave a comment on the item.

Buyer Protection

Since tutti does not support the transaction process, you have zero protection against fraud. If you get scammed, you need to initiate legal steps. When shopping on marko, you do not need to worry about fraud: all transactions are handled via the platform, and the money only gets paid out, once the transaction is completed. That way, we can protect both buyers and sellers from fraud: if the item never arrives or is not as advertised, you receive your money back without any hassle.

Seller Protection

On tutti, similar to buyer protection you don’t have fraud protection, while on marko you don’t need to worry about buyers not paying for your secondhand. As soon as your item gets purchased, the payment from the buyer gets reserved. Once the transaction is completed, we will automatically issue the payout to your bank account. This ensures that you will always get paid for your secondhand sales.

Shipping

Tutti doesn’t facilitate any delivery options, it’s up to the buyer and seller to agree on a specific delivery method and the cost of it., marko provides three delivery options: in addition to custom shipping and pick-up, marko also offers Easy Shipping. With marko Easy Shipping, we send you a shipping kit with a marko-tag and the pre-printed stick-on label: All you have to do is stick it on your parcel, put it in your mailbox, attach the marko-tag and the Post picks it up - everything for CHF 7.-.

Do you love the seller’s style? - Follow

Seller profiles on tutti are anonymous, whereas on marko you can see who you are buying from. In addition to the “follow the seller profiles”, sellers can link their social media so that the buyers can see their style. On tutti you can’t do either.

Platform fees

Since tutti does not facilitate the transaction, they do not charge a transaction fee - instead, they make money by showing you advertisements between the listings. On marko we charge a small fee to facilitate the transaction and keep you safe from fraud. Whenever you sell an item on marko, a fee of CHF 1 + 1.9% of the item price will automatically be deducted from your payout, and buyers will be charged 5% for buyer protection. All charges are clearly labeled and marko will only collect once the transaction is completed - if a buyer returns the item, you will not be charged any fee. It is those fees that enable us to provide secure payments, the option to initiate a refund, and great customer support. And as a plus, you won’t get scammed by ads on marko.

Conclusion:

Now it’s up to you to decide where you buy and sell your secondhand items. Which platform suits you better? What shopping experience are you looking for? How important is fraud to you? If you choose marko, we are looking forward to you becoming a part of our community!
